Dennis L. Martire has dedicated over three decades of service to the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), starting his journey in April 1990. Fresh out of West Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in government, Martire quickly moved up the ranks at LIUNA, becoming assistant regional manager of the Mid-Atlantic region by 2000 and securing the prestigious role of vice president and regional manager just two years later.
One of his most remarkable achievements was leading the unionization efforts during the Route 495 Hot Lanes Project, where he empowered workers to join LIUNA Local 11, marking one of the largest victories for Virginia’s construction industry. Through his leadership, Martire has played a key role in fighting for fair wages, overseeing training programs, and ensuring workers’ voices are heard on various platforms.
